The hard disks:
The unit contains four internal hard disks, they have what looks like an 8"
platter size, with six platters.
I wasn't sure how long the IBM would sit in the back of the pickup in our
driveway before I could get it stored, so I was intent on removing the harddisks
for their preservation.
The 'front' two hard disks are mounted in the opposite direction from the rear
two, making the rear ones much harder to extricate.
Each disk weighs 53lbs (24kg).
